Bisbee Police Bust Record Marijuana Haul, Discover a Naco Tunnel

N0225_-_Tunnel-USBP_photoThe Bisbee Police Department has the largest marijuana seizure in its history, when a traffic stop yielded 4793 bundles of marijuana in a rental truck. According to Chief Ben Reyna, this is the largest in the department’s history. The tunnel in Naco is the second major tunnel found in Naco since 1999. Luis E. Jacobo, 37, was detained and arrested by the Bisbee Police Department, after being stopped on Willson Road and Highway 92. Two hundred and seven bundles of marijuana was removed from the rental truck. With this evidence, Bisbee Police and federal agents executed a search warrant that uncovered a sophisticated tunnel across the border. Luis E. Jacobo, age 59, was arrested at the site of the tunnel.
