Crime statistics from the FBI confirm that the drug violence occurring in Sonora is not spilling over into Arizona.
In fact, violent crime rates in Arizona have decreased in the last four years. Violent crime rate per 100,000 people dropped 7 percent from 2007 to 2008 and more than 15 percent from 2008 to 2009, according to the FBI.
The budget cuts being proposed by the Arizona Legislature could close dozens of rural hospitals, including the Copper Queen Community Hospital in Bisbee.
Copper Queen’s CEO, Jim Dickson is alarmed that the proposed cuts could impact his patients and the community at large.
The FBI has determined that three of the four men detained by the Border Patrol on the night Agent Brian Terry was killed have no connection with the shooting death.
